THE IMPORTANCE OF HEALTHY WORKPLACES
GREAT WORKENVIRONMENT MEANS GREAT STAFF
From 2018 all countries within the European Union will by law be obliged to control radon levels at workplaces!
A new revised Basic Safety Standards Directive was adopted in 2013 by the Council Directive 2013/59/Euroatom of 5 December 2013 laying down basic safety standards for the protection against the dangers arising from exposure to ionizing radiation. The European Union has for the first time set down a framework for controlling exposures to natural radiation sources arising from work activities.
In short this means that all workplaces within the European Union shall measure and control their levels of radon. Member states shall bring into force the laws, regulations and administrative provisions necessary to comply with the new Basic Safety Standards by 2018.
